Risk disclosure
OwnFi provides information, risk indicators, routing tools and execution support. It does not guarantee returns, take custody of funds, pool customer assets, or provide personalised financial advice. DeFi involves significant risk including smart contract failure, stablecoin depegging, liquidity issues, governance changes and loss of funds. You remain responsible for your decisions and transactions.
1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of this informational website. The OwnFi application is not live yet; separate terms will apply to the application when it launches. By using this site you agree to these terms and the risk disclosure above.
2. Nature of OwnFi
OwnFi is a non-custodial software interface for discovering, comparing and executing self-directed interactions with third-party decentralised finance protocols. OwnFi is not a bank, broker, fund, exchange, or custodian, and does not provide personalised financial, investment, legal or tax advice.
3. Self-custody and your responsibility
- You retain custody of your assets at all times in your own wallet.
- You approve and sign your own transactions. OwnFi cannot move funds for you.
- You are solely responsible for your decisions, your wallet security, your private keys and the transactions you authorise.
4. No guarantee of returns
Any yields, APYs or estimates shown are variable, sourced from third-party protocols, and are not guaranteed. Past or projected performance is not indicative of future results. Risk indicators and scores are educational information to support your own research and are not safety guarantees.
5. Third-party protocols
DeFi protocols accessed through OwnFi are operated by independent third parties. OwnFi does not control them and is not responsible for their performance, security, solvency or conduct. Your interactions with those protocols are at your own risk and may be subject to their own terms.
6. Risks of DeFi
Using decentralised finance involves significant risk, including but not limited to: smart contract failure or exploits, stablecoin depegging, liquidity and market risk, governance changes, network or bridge failures, regulatory changes, and total loss of funds. Only interact with funds you can afford to lose.
7. Eligibility and compliance
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of DeFi and any future use of the OwnFi application is lawful in your jurisdiction, and for meeting your own tax and regulatory obligations.
8. No warranties; limitation of liability
This website is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, OwnFi and its contributors are not liable for any losses or damages arising from your use of this site or from any DeFi activity you undertake.
9. Changes
We may update these terms as the product develops. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
